Every brief starts with one question: what story does your business need to tell?

I’m Nate Lansdell, a professional member of the British Institute of Professional Photography, based in Peterborough and working with businesses across the East Midlands, Cambridge, London and the wider UK. Here’s the thing: I don’t specialise in a single type of photography, I specialise in the purpose behind it. Whether I’m photographing your leadership team, your premises, your products or your most important event of the year, the brief is always the same. Create images that communicate who you are, build trust with the people you want to reach, and keep working for your business long after the shoot day.

Why "good enough" images cost businesses more than they save

The world is saturated with “good enough” images. But in a competitive market, good enough doesn’t build trust or close deals. Your business is built on unique stories and the relationships you’ve worked hard to earn. Those moments deserve more than a camera pointed in the right direction. They deserve a partner who understands the strategy behind the shot.

As your commercial photographer, I bring both creative vision and professional accountability to every brief. I take the time to listen, understand your goals, and build a clear plan before a single shutter fires. Whether I’m capturing the character of a commercial property, the precision of a product or advertising campaign, or the confidence of a professional headshot, I produce imagery that does more than look good. It performs.

Guidance, Care and Trust

Expertise for the Camera-Shy

If the thought of being in front of a camera fills you with dread, you’re in exactly the right place. I specialise in helping business owners and professionals feel genuinely at ease, not just tolerate the process. Through guided posing, portable studio setups, and a relaxed pace, I create an environment where confidence comes naturally and your brand stays consistent throughout.

How I Capture Your Story

My Photography Process In Four Steps

Step 01 | The Strategy Consultation

We begin with a thirty-minute virtual discovery call or a phone conversation to talk through your business in detail. This is where we pin down your goals and any frustrations with your current imagery, so everything that follows is built around what you actually need. I'll explain my process and put together a clear plan that makes sure you get a genuine return on your investment.

Step 03 | The Editorial Edit

After our session, I edit your collection in my natural, true-to-life style: clean, believable images with no heavy processing. Where you have brand guidelines I match them exactly, building custom presets when needed, and where you're after a particular mood I'll edit to suit, whether that's bright and corporate or something earthier and more raw. I aim to deliver property images within two working days and all other commercial work within five to seven, so you're never left waiting to put them to use. For events, I send a selection of ten edited highlights within twenty-four hours, so you can make an immediate impact on social media while it still counts.

Step 02 | The Photography Session

To make sure you're fully prepared, I send my signature guides on how to get the most from your shoot. I arrive at least thirty minutes early to set up and run through our shot list, so when your team arrives everything is ready and not a minute of their time is wasted. Whether we're capturing products or people, I create a relaxed environment where you feel comfortable and every detail is caught with care.

Step 04 | The Bespoke Gallery

Your final images arrive in a private, professional online gallery that stays live for fifteen days. From there you can view and download everything in both high-resolution print and web-optimised formats. Every delivery includes a clear commercial licence, giving you the freedom to use your new assets across all your marketing platforms. And if you ever need your images again after the gallery closes, don't worry, I keep your edited files safely archived for two years, so they're only ever an email away.

Commercial Photography FAQs: Working With Nate Lansdell

I provide six core services: commercial and brand photography, event photography, headshots and team photography, food and product photography, Personal branding photography and property and interior photography. Each has its own dedicated page with full details, and many clients combine services in a single commission, such as headshots alongside workplace lifestyle imagery.

I am based in Peterborough and most of my work is across Cambridgeshire, the East Midlands and East Anglia, with regular commissions in Cambridge, Norfolk and London. For larger projects I travel UK wide. I also meet clients and host studio sessions at the Allia Future Business Centre in Peterborough by appointment.

My clients range from local Peterborough businesses to national organisations including British Sugar, Barclays, Sodexo and Chessington World of Adventures Resort. I have photographed large charity balls and galas for the NSPCC, and Sue Ryder, and have even photographed behind the scenes at HMP Peterborough You can see the work and the stories behind it in my client case studies, and read what clients say in my 50 plus five star Google reviews.

Every commission includes a standard commercial licence covering your website, social media, marketing materials and internal communications, which is everything most businesses ever need. If you require extended usage such as paid advertising campaigns, billboards or third party use, just let me know upfront and I will build it into your quote. You will always know exactly what you can do with your images before we shoot.

No, and this is something I take seriously. I work calmly and efficiently around real teams in real workplaces, from offices to factory floors to care homes. We agree timings in advance, I direct gently rather than staging everything, and your business keeps running while we shoot. Clients regularly tell me the session was far less intrusive than they expected.

Both, genuinely. My client list includes national names like British Sugar and Sodexo, but much of my work is with small and medium sized businesses across Peterborough and Cambridgeshire: independent restaurants, professional services firms, construction companies and growing brands. Every commission is scoped to fit the business, and for sole traders and founders a personal branding session is often the perfect starting point.

Yes. I carry full professional indemnity and public liability insurance, which is essential for working on commercial premises, industrial sites and at public events. If your organisation requires documentation before granting site access, I can provide a copy of my business insurance certificate.

No, I focus purely on photography, and that focus is a big part of why the work is as strong as it is. I know several excellent videographers I trust and recommend, and if your project needs both, we can easily coordinate photo and video on the same shoot.

Yes, and many clients find this is where photography becomes really valuable. Rather than one big shoot every few years, an ongoing arrangement keeps your image library current as your team, premises and projects evolve. Whether that is a quarterly half day or coverage of key events through the year, we can build a rhythm that suits your marketing calendar. Get in touch and we will plan it together.

No, passport and ID photography is not a service I offer. My work is commissioned photography for businesses: commercial, events, headshots, food and product, and property. For passport photos, most pharmacies and photo printing shops in Peterborough offer a quick walk in service that will serve you far better. If what you actually need is a professional headshot for LinkedIn, your company website or press use, that is very much what I do, and you will find full details on my headshots page.

No, I specialise in commercial and business photography and I do not take wedding commissions. Peterborough and Cambridgeshire have some genuinely talented dedicated wedding photographers, and a specialist will always serve your day better than a generalist. Where I can help is with the business side of weddings: I photograph venues, hospitality spaces and event businesses for their marketing, so if you run a wedding venue or supplier business that needs imagery to attract couples, I would love to hear from you.

Commercial photographer based in Peterborough

Hey, I’m Nate. Nice to meet you.

I’m a commercial photographer based in Peterborough, and honestly, I just love what I do. Every business has a story worth telling. From the sole trader who has spent years building something they’re genuinely proud of, to the multinational with a hundred people in a conference room. My job is to find that story and capture it properly.

I’ve been lucky enough to work with some brilliant people along the way, British Sugar, Barclays, Sodexo, Chessington World of Adventures Resort, the Royal Society of Chemistry, and hundreds of businesses across Peterborough, Cambridge and the East Midlands. Over 50 five-star Google reviews, which still makes me smile every time I read them.

Whether you need product and advertising photography for a brand campaign, an estate agent looking for beautiful never over-processed photos of your property, a HR specialist needing corporate headshots for a growing team, or event photography for a major conference or awards evening, I cover Peterborough, Cambridge, the East Midlands and beyond.

And if the thought of being in front of a camera fills you with dread? You’re in exactly the right place. Getting camera-shy people to actually enjoy a shoot is genuinely one of my favourite parts of the job. Ask any of my clients.

If any of this sounds like what you’ve been looking for, I’d love to have a chat. Coffee is on me.
